The rings are in special seats on the plunger tip and are realized in a particularly pressed copper alloy. They are always in contact with the shot sleeve walls and work as sealing rings for the molten aluminium, as in a hydraulic system. Between the plunger head and the ring there are shaped channels to inject liquid aluminium under the ring. The rings employs the strength of liquid aluminium to adhere to the shot sleeve perimeter, so they are calibrated at each shot and the aluminium, solidified and accumulated under the ring, fills the external use of the ring itself.
